About USWAT

Welcome to United States Weather Alert Team

We are a great group of individuals that enjoy helping people understand about severe weather. We also help with getting the severe weather alerts out to the public. We are glad to help anyone that comes to us with any questions that they may have concerning severe weather events in their area or coming towards them.
Our mission is to help protect our communities and keep them out of harms way during a severe weather event. Here at USWAT, our motto is "One life we save is one life not lost". We work closely with our members to get any and all reports of damage caused by severe weather relayed to the National Weather Service as quickly as possible. This quick action will give the NWS enough time to issue warnings and advisories based upon the solid data that is being sent to the them.
We use an "app" to handle USWAT team communications, it is called Zello. The Zello app can be found in the Google Play Store, The App Store for the iPhone or via the Zello link on the right hand side of this page. Once Zello is installed; All you would have to do is search for the USWAT "channel". If at anytime you have trouble with finding our channel; You can contact us for help. We enjoy having people come into our channels and ask questins about severe weather events in their area.
We are looking for highly motivated people that enjoy weather and helping the community learn more about the weather. We are looking for dispatchers, radar techs, Skywarn spotters and storm chasers. We are all volunteers that help get the severe weather information back to the NWS. If you are interested in becoming a member, please feel free to email us or send us a message on Facebook.
The United States Weather Alert Team (USWAT) was founded in June of 2016 by Tim Moore and Paul Lockyer.
